Rutland EH9020 NPT Silky Cotton White is a professional-grade white plastisol screen printing ink formulated specifically for cotton fabrics. Designed to maximize smoothness and opacity, EH9020 provides excellent coverage while helping flatten garment fibers for a clean, high-quality printed surface.
Its smooth, creamy consistency provides excellent printability on both manual and automatic screen printing presses. The ink is engineered for fast flashing and low after-flash tack, helping reduce dwell times and improve production efficiency during multi-color printing.
EH9020 produces a boutique-style matte-gloss appearance with a smooth satin finish and soft hand. Its combination of opacity, smoothness, and excellent fiber mat-down makes it suitable as either a stand-alone white or a highlight white in multi-color designs.
Rutland EH9020 is designed primarily for cotton garments and performs well across light, medium, and dark cotton fabrics. The standard-cure plastisol formulation requires the complete ink film to reach approximately 320°F (160°C) for proper cure.

- Thoroughly mix EH9020 before printing to ensure consistent viscosity and print performance.
- Flood the image before the print stroke for best printing results.
- Use a sharp 70-durometer squeegee as a starting point for controlled ink deposits and good print definition.
- A triple-durometer 65/90/65 or 60/90/60 squeegee may also be used depending on the desired ink deposit.
- EH9020 can be printed through mesh counts ranging from 86–305 threads per inch.
- Use approximately 160 threads/in. or higher when a finer, smoother ink deposit is desired.
- Coarser mesh counts such as 86–110 threads/in. are useful when a heavier ink deposit is required, particularly on heavy cotton fleece.
- Flash only long enough to gel the ink and eliminate surface tack.
- Avoid excessive flashing, which can fully cure the ink and interfere with adhesion between subsequent ink layers.
- Cure the complete ink deposit to 320°F (160°C).
- Establish dryer temperature, belt speed, and dwell time through production testing.
- Garment construction and ink-film thickness can affect actual curing performance.

Rutland EH9020 NPT Silky Cotton White is designed primarily as a cotton white and should not be treated as a bleed-resistant polyester white. For polyester or poly-rich garments where dye migration is a concern, use an appropriate Rutland low-bleed or polyester white formulated for that application.
Mesh selection directly affects the finished ink deposit. Higher mesh counts can provide a finer, smoother deposit, while lower mesh counts such as 86–110 threads per inch can provide the heavier deposit required for maximum opacity or heavier cotton and fleece garments.
The complete ink film should reach 320°F (160°C) for proper cure. Cure time can vary depending on dryer type and ink deposit thickness.
Always test the ink on the intended garment before production and verify opacity, fiber mat-down, flash performance, cure, adhesion, and wash durability.
