Isacord thread is a brand of high-quality polyester embroidery thread made by Amann Group, a well-known German company. It's super popular among both home and commercial machine embroiderers for a few reasons:

Key Features of Isacord Thread:

  • Material: 100% trilobal polyester – this gives it a nice sheen, similar to rayon, but with the durability of polyester.

  • Durability: It’s strong, resistant to abrasion, and holds up well to washing, bleaching, and even chlorine (great for items like swimwear or uniforms).

  • Colorfast: The colors don’t fade easily, even after repeated washing or exposure to sunlight.

  • Low lint: It runs clean through machines, which helps reduce maintenance.

  • Thread weight: Commonly 40wt (standard for embroidery), though other weights exist.

  • Uses: Primarily for machine embroidery, but some people use it for quilting or decorative stitching too.
